Well it is starting to feel like my favorite time of year. I have said it before here in one of my archived blog posts, summer brings a jumble of emotions. Mostly the good kind, but summer also brought about my diagnosis back in 2011. And for whatever reason, I know it to be the same for many others. Then the things we look forward to most all year become tainted by a schedule full of doctor appointments coupled with anxious thoughts with feeling cruddy thrown on top. Even with all of that, I don’t look back on the summer of 2011 with disdain. For sure it was a period of cave-living, but it was my chance to still, sit in my lament and listen for His voice. It was where I found the greatest comfort I have ever experienced. So for those that are looking out over a pink-tainted summer, I would encourage you that God does some of His greatest work when we are deep in the cave if we let Him in with us.

Pinked Update
This past week, I had the opportunity of locking arms with Primary Residential Mortgage Maryland and Keller Willams Flagship who hosted our largest kit assembly to date. Big shout out to these ladies, Michele and Brooke that led the charge in shopping and ordering many of the kit supplies needed and organized a team of 10 volunteers to help us put them together as an extension to their charitable initiative called Red Day. We are all set for kit assemblies for the summer and have many kits ready to go out to those that need them.
