 Happy St. Patty’s Day! Let’s hope the Luck of the Irish = spring weather that sticks around! With the anticipation of a new season nearly upon us, Pinked is thrilled to announce some changes including the expansion of our leadership team with the addition of an Executive Director! We are excited to welcome aboard local breast cancer warrior Francine Scott to help Pinked with expanding our scope and reach. Francine brings decades of experience as both a volunteer and a marketing professional who has run her own business and is eager to share her skills and background with Pinked as we move forward with our growth plans. Our primary focus will remain meeting the increasing demand of our mastectomy and lumpectomy care kits, as well as expanding the frequency and reach of our new Empower Hour Workshops, geared toward supporting local survivors.Francine is a three-year triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) survivor and currently serves on the Maryland Oncology Hematology Cares Foundation, as well as the Johns Hopkins INSPIRE Breast Cancer Research Advocacy Program. She resides in the Annapolis area with her husband, daughter and perfectly-behaved doodle. |

In honor of opening day quickly approaching, we are announcing that together with our friends at Stef Ripple, we are headed back to Oriole Park on Sunday, May 4th to cheer on our favorite O’s, raise funds to support ovarian and breast cancer warriors, and bring awareness to Breast and Ovarian Cancers. $5 from each ticket sold will be donated to the organization of your choice. We are so grateful for your ongoing support to reach this growing demand. Kit assemblies continue to be a great support to Pinked in helping us to pack kits and have them ready to send to our deserving recipients. February kit assemblies included a fun Galentine’s gathering hosted by Jen Schumacher with a group comprised of breast cancer survivors and some in current treatment—breasties supporting breasties! Our other kit assembly was hosted by Dawn Heinlein and included many of her friends, neighbors and family. We are so grateful for their support! We are looking forward to a second kit assembly with the Wellness House in Annapolis, as well as a local college sorority and local church womens’ group. SEEKING KIT ASSEMBLY HOSTS: If you are interested in hosting a kit assembly, gather a group of friends, family members, teammates, officemates, club members and help assemble kits while enjoying some social time… Pinked Perspective will provide all of the kit items and materials for the assembly, including a digital invite; you provide the space, volunteers and any food or beverages you might want for your guests.
