31 Days of Warrior Stories

“You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.”

 -Bob Marley

I never considered myself a strong person (not even sure I do now), but just as the above quote reads sometimes we face things that draw strength out of us that we might not otherwise believe we have. Sometimes we are forced into being a Warrior. The journey I faced was hard but I know there is a lot of hard, a lot of hurt in this life. I have watched and am watching many suffer, and my heart aches constantly for those in the midst of the fight. It is why this ministry is in place–so they would know that they are not alone, that there are others who are willing to take on the details of life so their energy is reserved for battle, and that there are others praying for and believing in the victory, whatever that looks like. Believe me, there is strength in the simple fact that there are others that care and believe in your Warrior-ness.

For the last three Octobers, I have chosen to accept the challenge of writing on the blog for 31 consecutive days in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. I was all set to accept the challenge again but the priority of planning for this year’s Think Pink Event has left minimal extra time for preparing posts for October. Posting every day for a month is no joke and while I have wouldn’t change the past three Octobers for anything, I am feeling it necessary to modify things this year. The plan is to post more often than usual this month in order to continue to raise awareness and share the love of pink. However, I also want to be prayerful and careful as I share some incredible Warrior stories with you.

I am so grateful that so many have shared in the sorrow for those facing the specific fight of breast cancer. Unfortunately, I think it is because so many of us now know someone that has been touched by it. I just might be contacting you to help me share your story or that of your loved one. I would love if you would join me this month to hear some stories that will inspire and bring you Hope. I think we could all use a bit of that!
